Full-Time Project Accountant

Project Accountant Responsibilities

• Tracking, analyzing, and reporting project financial status.
• Ensuring procedures and policies fulfill contractual financial obligations.
• Facilitating efficient financial reporting and compliance with local, state, and corporate policies.
• Understanding revenue recognition, project invoicing, journal entry preparation, and general accounting rules.
• Communicating financial insights and project performance to management and clients (non-financial).
• Direct fiscal operations relating to financial planning, funds management, accounting, reporting, and disbursement.
• Performing month-end closing activities
• Processing payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable invoices.
• Preparing and maintaining budgets, forecasts, and cash flows across multiple funding streams and communicating the contract’s financial position.
• Administering supplier contract terms, verifying compliance, and reviewing payments.
• Preparing financial performance reviews and maintaining project financial data.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field, and 3+ years of experience in an accounting role.
• Experience with cost accounting, government fund accounting, or Oracle is a plus.
