Quality Control Manager (QCM) is a key leader in ensuring consistent quality implementation across construction projects. This role provides technical expertise, leadership, and coordination in quality management, collaborating with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors.
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop and enforce project-specific Quality Management Plans (QMPs).
- Collaborate with project teams and subcontractors to meet quality goals.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and constructability reviews to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and specifications.
- Lead the Three Phase Inspection process (preparatory, initial, and follow-up).
- Chair and document preparatory and weekly QC meetings with stakeholders.
- Review and approve shop drawings, submittals, and contract documents for project conformance.
- Provide training and coaching to project teams for quality risk mitigation.
- Maintain records of quality control activities, non-conformance logs (NCRs), and ensure timely resolutions.
- Serve as the primary Quality Control representative, overseeing all QC functions to avoid delays and maintain schedules.
Required Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 6 years construction experience in a quality control management role.
- Proficiency in Procore, Viewpoint, SharePoint, and MS Office.
- In-depth knowledge of construction standards, best practices, and the International Building Code (IBC).
- Proven experience with diverse project types and ability to delegate and supervise tasks.
- Strong analytical skills, systematic thinking, and exceptional organizational capabilities.
