Job Details
As a Quantity Surveyor, manage costs and contracts for infrastructure/maintenance projects. Prepare detailed cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
Develop and monitor project budgets, ensuring alignment with contract requirements and delivering value for money.
Evaluate cost implications for procurement options, securing competitive pricing.
Cost Control and Financial Management: Oversee cost control processes, monitoring actual spending against the budget, and addressing deviations. Provide ongoing cost analysis, identify potential savings, and recommend optimization strategies throughout project lifecycles.
Implement financial tracking for real-time cost reporting, ensuring transparency, communicating cost overruns/savings to the project team.
Prepare monthly financial reports detailing cost performance, projections, and cash flow.
Procurement and Contract Management: Analyze tenders/proposals, evaluating them based on price, quality, and compliance with specifications.
Manage contract administration: Review and approve contractor claims, variations, and payments. Ensure contractual terms are met and disputes are resolved effectively.
Risk Management and Value Engineering: Conduct detailed cost-risk assessments.
Implement changes from value engineering efforts, ensuring cost reductions don't compromise quality, safety, or sustainability.
Provide cost-related input to change control, documenting and approving all financial impacts.
Project Monitoring and Performance Reporting: Monitor project progress, comparing to agreed budgets, highlighting potential cost overruns/delays, and ensuring corrective actions.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Promote sustainable procurement, aligning with company carbon emission reduction goals and supporting local suppliers.
Contribute to safety and risk assessments, ensuring financial provisions cover health and safety compliance.
Stakeholder and Client Collaboration: Collaborate with clients like Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) to provide cost analysis and project reports.
Engage with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders ensuring compliance with contractual, financial, and legal requirements.
Sustainability and CSR: Contribute to company CSR initiatives, supporting local suppliers and promoting sustainable development.
