AS A REVENUE ACCOUNTANT, YOU WILL:
- Manage the end-to-end revenue recognition process in accordance with GAAP and company policies;
- Review and analyze client agreements to determine revenue recognition treatment;
- Collaborate with Sales, Legal, and Deal Desk teams to ensure alignment between contractual terms and revenue recognition principles;
- Maintain deferred revenue schedules for all client contracts; reconcile the trial balance report for each subsidiary back to these schedules during the monthly close process;
- Prepare revenue journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly close activities;
- Maintain awareness of changes/updates to GAAP revenue recognition rules;
- Assist in the preparation of the annual revenue budget, monthly revenue forecasts, and variance analysis;
- Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to revenue;
- Conduct ad hoc analytics and reporting as directed.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required;
- Minimum of 2 years experience in software-as-a-service (SaaS) revenue accounting;
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel;
- Strong knowledge of ASC 606 and revenue recognition principles;
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex contractual terms;
- Demonstrated experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
