Full-Time Reverse Mortgage DE Underwriter

Longbridge is seeking a Reverse Mortgage DE Underwriter to join our dynamic team.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Underwrite files and establish conditions to meet FHA and LBF guidelines.
2. Make timely, accurate decisions on all FHA transactions.
3. Evaluate risk and ensure quality loan decisions.
4. Communicate requirements and decisions clearly to appropriate parties (e.g., processing).
5. Review all areas of mortgage loan files for accuracy, completeness, and compliance (Application, Title, Appraisal, Assets, Credit, etc.).
6. Partner with processing to close loans efficiently and adhere to service level agreements.
7. Maintain quality control and production standards.
8. Assist in identifying, recommending, and/or negotiating alternative loan documentation.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3+ years of active experience underwriting DE Reverse Mortgages.
• HECM purchase experience is a plus.
• Proprietary Reverse Mortgage underwriting experience is a plus.
• Valid and active CHUMS number.
• Strong credit risk analysis and analytical skills.
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software applications.
• Working knowledge of federal and state regulations (MDA, TILA, HUD, RESPA).
• Understanding of loan flow process, file structure, and documentation.
• Strong attention to detail, written/verbal communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing situations.
• Familiarity with HUD guidelines, mortgage legal documentation, 3rd party risk assessment products, and compliance regulations.
