Role Responsibilities:

As an insurance company, data is at the core of everything we do at Vouch. Data and analysis are critical to improving our clients' insurance design, underwriting, and outcomes. Data also drives our business operations and our financial decisions. As a Senior Data Analyst at Vouch, you’ll have the unique opportunity to build the foundational data structure, tools, and models to help all of our functions become increasingly data-driven. You will be part of the Analytics team and sit cross-functionally, working closely with the data team, finance, biz ops, and product managers who work across all of our functions.

You will work with our teams + stakeholders to build and maintain foundational data sets, dashboards, and analytical frameworks to address challenges and questions for a specific business unit within our organization. Additionally, you will take ownership of the data asset development process from discovery to post-launch, driving key decisions that impact the data domain.

Job Duties:

  • Develop an advanced understanding of Vouch's business model and its drivers, with a deep focus on a business unit
  • Conduct Discovery with cross-functional stakeholders to identify data and metrics they need to solve their business challenges and questions
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Data Engineering, Product, and relevant teams on data instrumentation
  • Propose standardized definitions of data and metrics, and get buy-in from stakeholders
  • Develop analytical framework, single-source-of-truth data sets, and dashboards (in Mode) to empower stakeholders to perform their own analysis
  • Perform analyses using single-source-of-truth data sets to identify performance drivers and opportunities to optimize the business
  • Lead data projects end-to-end from discovery to activation and post-launch in collaboration with a cross-functional team of Engineering, Product, GTM, etc.
  • Clearly document data models with source, description, and field definitions to enhance collaboration, scalability, and usability
  • Tie goals back to business metrics such as written premium, conversion rates, or top-of-funnel growth

About You:

  • 3-6 years of experience working as a data analyst, data scientist, consultant, or equivalent quantitative analytical role
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in statistics, math, economics, computer science, finance, or equivalent practical experience
  • Advanced SQL skills, experience with BI tools (Mode, Tableau, Looker), and familiarity with data transformation tools (dbt)
  • Are excited to dig into our business processes to understand how data is generated
  • Strategic thinker with a deep understanding of business drivers
  • Skilled in gathering business requirements,  define metrics, analyze problems, and propose solutions
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proven collaborator, effective in cross-functional teams and multi-stakeholder environments
  • Are eager to learn new tools and improve your technical skill set
  • Grit: You are initiative, goal-oriented, purpose-driven, and can work through adversity
  • 1+ years of professional experience with Python or R

Nice To Have:

  • Insurance or financial services background
  • Exposure to, and passion for, early-stage startups and/or high-growth environments
  • Previous experience working in product-led funnel conversion, user segmentation, attribution, or similar business analytics problems
