Full-Time Senior Designer

As a Designer in our Amsterdam studio, you'll play an essential role in the conception, design, and execution of impactful solutions across the entire brand experience. By thinking beyond briefs and imagining approaches our clients may not have asked for – or even thought possible – you'll be helping to build AKQA's reputation for work that is both groundbreaking and influential.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

• Passionate about designing for the full brand experience – from identities to products and services.
• Believes brands are meant to move, and designs with motion in mind from the start.
• Possesses ability to translate brand-thinking into ownable and systematic digital experiences.
• Collaborate with art directors, copywriters, strategists, and technologists to develop innovative and persuasive concepts.
• Embrace challenges and inspire new ways of thinking.
• Drive the development of creative ideas for new business pitches and other important agency initiatives.
• Leads by example to inspire colleagues to originate pioneering ideas that deliver successful solutions.
• Be client-facing, present creative work to both internal and client stakeholders, and be the creative go-to on accounts you work on.
• Has defined, facilitated, and overseen design processes across different streams of work, from concept design vision to final development.
• Share your knowledge with AKQA teams and mentor mid/junior designers.
• Profound knowledge of all things Figma and design systems.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CHARACTERISTICS

• A compelling portfolio that demonstrates the breadth of your conceptual thinking and design craft.
• Exceptional communication skills that enable you to articulate the "why" behind your design concepts.
• You have a drive to break boundaries and craft the best ideas of their kind in the world.
• You are passionate, driven, and obsessed about your craft and stay on top of best practice in your field.
• Natural curiosity that allows you to find inspiration in anything and everything, with an especially keen eye on the future of media and technology.
• Proficient in branding design methodologies and design thinking.
• You have extensive experience with software like Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, and Keynote.
• A degree in Design, Interaction Design, Visual Studies, or other design-related field preferred, and art background is a plus.
