Full-Time Senior Fire Protection Engineer

Job OverviewJensen Hughes is seeking Mid – Senior level Fire Protection Engineers & Consultants in the U.S. South Region. In-office and hybrid work arrangements are available. Remote work is considered for candidates with significant experience and business development skills.

Responsibilities

• Management and implementation of fire protection engineering projects.
• Meeting client needs on schedule and within budget.
• Building and fire code reviews and analyses.
• Preparation of technical reports.
• Develop fire protection strategies and performance-based design solutions.
• Effective communication with clients and project team members.
• Assist with business development.
• Applying fire and life safety principles to solve design challenges.
• Evaluate facilities for code compliance and recommend improvements.
• Perform calculations (e.g., egress sizing, sprinkler system capacity).
• Create technical letters and reports.

Requirements and Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in fire protection engineering.
• Code consulting experience.
• Fire Suppression and Alarm System design.
• Performance-Based Design (PBD) and egress modeling.
• AHJ plan representation and plan review.
• Fire and Life Safety Building Commissioning.
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering (preferably Fire Protection) or related field.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
• Strong analytical and creative thinking skills.
• Ability to present technical fire protection strategies.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.
• Consulting experience, proposal preparation, and business development assistance preferred.
