Full-Time Senior Product Experience Designer

Wattpad’s vision is to entertain and connect the world through webnovel stories. We’re seeking a Senior Product Experience Designer to join the Reading Momentum Stream to improve the reading experiences.

You are a systems thinker who is committed to understanding users in order to create engaging product experiences that encourage interaction among readers and writers. You prioritize user privacy and safety while also considering revenue opportunities.

You excel at aligning user motivations with business goals and focus on the design details that keep users engaged on Wattpad – whether that means reading, participating in the community, or paying for premium content, features, and experiences.

You have experience researching user needs, setting user experience priorities, delivering accessible and implementable designs, and evaluating launched experiences to inform future iterations in the global market.

What you’ll be doing:

• Discover and define the underlying user needs and values that motivate Wattpad users to engage more consistently and deeply
• Partner with Product Managers, Researchers and Engineers to identify user needs and design solutions to create seamless and delightful experiences that keep users returning for more.
• Design the UX and UI flows across platforms (Web, iOS, Android) that are accessible and scalable.
• Contribute to the design system to ensure consistent design and experience across platforms.
• Provide feedback among team members to raise the bar for quality and deliverables.
• Develop your design leadership skills by contributing to Wattpad’s existing design practices by mentoring other designers, facilitating design workshops, and leading design events both within Wattpad and with the design community at large.

What we’re looking for:

• 5-7 years of experience in end-to-end product design with a proven track record of delivering high-impact results in the B2C global market or equivalent.
• Cross-platform design experience in Web, iOS, and Android.
• Experience working with user research, usability testing and data analytics.
• Excellent communicator who effectively articulates design approaches and solutions with cross-functional teams, stakeholders and senior management.
• Deep understanding of graphic design, interaction design and user-centered design principles.
• Proficient in design and facilitation tools such as Figma and Miro.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Self-starter who is comfortable working in ambiguity and can collaborate well in a remote working environment.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Design, Interaction Design, HCI, or related discipline.
