What You'll Do
As a Senior / Lead QA Engineer, you will play a key role in defining, implementing, and optimizing Fastn's quality assurance strategy. You will work closely with engineering, product, and customer success teams to ensure that our AI-powered integration platform meets the highest standards of performance, reliability, and security.
Your Responsibilities
Test Strategy & Automation: Define and execute test automation strategies for API, backend, and UI testing.
Scalability & Performance Testing: Design and implement performance, stress, and load testing for high-throughput, low-latency systems handling millions of transactions per second/minute.
End-to-End Testing: Develop and maintain automated and manual test suites to validate SaaS integrations, API functionality, and AI-driven automation workflows.
CI/CD & Release Quality: Work closely with DevOps and engineering teams to integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline, ensuring smooth and reliable deployments.
Security & Compliance Testing: Implement best practices for API security testing, authentication validation (OAuth, JWT, OpenID), and compliance adherence (SOC 2, GDPR, etc.).
Defect Management: Identify, document, and track bugs, ensuring timely resolution and maintaining high product quality.
Collaboration & Leadership: Work cross-functionally with product managers and engineers to define acceptance criteria, review test cases, and mentor junior QA engineers.
Monitoring & Observability: Implement tools and frameworks for real-time monitoring of integration health, failure detection, and issue diagnosis.
What We're Looking For

Must-Have Skills & Experience
5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with a strong focus on test automation and performance testing.
Expertise in test automation frameworks like Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or equivalent.
Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or JavaScript for test automation.
Experience with API testing tools like Postman, RestAssured, or similar.
Proven ability to test distributed, high-scale systems handling millions of transactions per second/minute.
Hands-on experience with performance testing tools like JMeter, Gatling, or k6.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, etc.).
Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Familiarity with security testing practices for APIs and authentication mechanisms.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead testing initiatives and mentor junior engineers.
