Full-Time Senior Sediment Scientist

AECOM seeks a Senior Sediment Environmental Scientist with 15+ years experience in sediment remediation, environmental science, and contaminated site management. This leadership role is perfect for an experienced scientist excelling in managing complex projects, developing innovative solutions, and mentoring teams. The ideal candidate must have profound expertise in sediment site assessments, remedial design, and implementation under CERCLA regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead complex sediment site assessments, investigations, and contaminant assessments in aquatic and terrestrial environments.
2. Provide technical direction on sampling plans, data collection methods, and analysis of sediment, water, and biota to evaluate contamination and risks.
3. Develop, oversee, and guide advanced sediment remediation strategies.
4. Lead the preparation of Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Studies (RI/FS), Remedial Action Plans (RAPs), and Risk Assessments.
5. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
6. Manage multiple sediment remediation projects, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
7. Ensure projects meet client expectations and company quality standards.
8. Build and nurture relationships with potential clients, regulatory agencies, and industry stakeholders.
9. Lead proposal development, cost estimates, and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
10. Serve as the primary technical contact for clients.
11. Oversee Health and Safety Plans for field projects.
12. Lead post-remediation monitoring efforts.
13. Mentor and develop junior and mid-level staff.
14. Drive innovation in sediment remediation practices.
15. Participate in industry conferences and publish technical papers.
