About The Role
Our technology team builds, launches, and evolves internal applications and consumer-facing web applications. We implement modern agile best practices and fully automated CI/CD pipelines. The SDET role focuses on verifying software quality and reliability.
A Senior SDET brings experience and understanding to the team and owns the QA step in the process.
What You’ll Do
- Work closely with the entire team to understand the work being done, communicate issues, verify software quality, and deliver new features.
- Become the SME for projects as they are planned and developed, and own the testing step in our SDLC.
- Plan and build automation around new features and update automation for existing features.
- Investigate and resolve complex bugs in unfamiliar code.
- Troubleshoot test and tool failures.
- Mentor team members on best practices, testing, and automation.
- Offer code reviews on SDET pull requests.
- Attend and participate in scrum meetings.
What We Look For
- Extensive experience in independently planning and building robust automation to test software applications.
- Comfort with manually testing software applications.
- Ability to set up and maintain a local Ruby on Rails environment.
- Strong understanding of RSpec, Capybara, and Selenium WebDriver.
- Understanding of the code pipeline to troubleshoot and maintain.
- Ability to prioritize and deliver stories independently, communicate bugs, and risks.
- Ability to write complex SQL queries to validate data changes or troubleshoot issues.
- Strong communication skills.
