Full-Time Senior Tailings Engineer

WSP is seeking a Senior Tailings Engineer to join our Mine Waste team in Midrand, South Africa.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing tailings services and technical advice on moderate complex tailings issues to clients.
• Using advanced techniques to synthesize and analyze data for decision-making.
• Managing tailings and geotechnical reporting for projects, including design, inspection, construction, operation, and management of mine waste storage facilities.
• Providing safety leadership in health & safety (HSSE).
• Participating in training, mentoring, and knowledge transfer to junior engineers.
• Planning, scheduling, coordinating, and overseeing manpower on engineering projects.
• Providing technical direction, supervising quality and quantity of work, and preparing proposals and reports.
• Building business relationships with clients.

Requirements:

• Relevant degree (BEng or BSc) in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in tailings and geotechnical engineering.
• Professional registration at ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa) is preferred.
• Strong skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Projects).
• Proficiency in slope stability analysis, seepage analysis, and modeling software.
• Understanding of Work in Progress, Accounts Receivables, and DSOs.
• Project management skills.
