We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Artist to join our team and play a crucial role in the creation of AAA game cinematics using Unreal Engine 5. In this role, you will be at the forefront of technical artistry, driving the assembly of cinematics and ensuring their seamless integration with gameplay. You will collaborate closely with the gameplay team to bring cinematic visions to life, maintaining the highest standards of quality and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical assembly of AAA game cinematics in Unreal Engine 5, ensuring smooth integration with gameplay elements.
- Design, implement, and maintain the technical pipelines and workflows necessary for cinematic production, optimizing performance and quality.
- Work closely with the gameplay, animation, and art teams to ensure that cinematics are consistent with the overall artistic vision and gameplay requirements.
- Identify and resolve technical challenges related to cinematic production, including rendering, lighting, shading, and VFX integration.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in Unreal Engine 5 and other relevant technologies, driving innovation in cinematic production techniques.
- Ensure that all cinematic assets are optimized for performance without compromising visual quality, adhering to platform-specific requirements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the game industry, with a focus on technical artistry, and a proven track record of shipping AAA titles as a Senior Technical Artist.
- Advanced proficiency in Unreal Engine 5, with deep knowledge of cinematic tools, sequencer, real-time rendering, and performance optimization techniques.
- Extensive experience in the technical assembly of game cinematics, with a strong understanding of animation, lighting, shading, and VFX integration.
- Strong ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including gameplay, animation, and art teams.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing technical challenges.
- Passion for innovation and a deep understanding of the latest trends and technologies in game development and real-time rendering.
- Experience in mentoring and developing junior technical artists, with a commitment to fostering technical excellence.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience on multiple shipped AAA titles, with a portfolio demonstrating your contributions to high-quality cinematic production.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Blueprints, or C++ for tool development and automation within Unreal Engine.
- Strong understanding of VFX integration and real-time particle systems within Unreal Engine 5.
- Familiarity with platform-specific requirements and optimization techniques for consoles and high-end PCs.
