Senior Mortgage Underwriter role: Join our expanding team! Use established guidelines to assess borrower financials and credit information alongside property valuations to guide lending decisions.

Responsibilities:

• Underwrite and decide on FHA, VA, agency conforming, and jumbo residential mortgage loans.
• Verify and analyze financial information and documentation; ensure complete loan files with credit and legal documents.
• Review appraisal reports to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Analyze applicant income, expenses, assets, credit reports, and property valuations to confirm loan eligibility.
• Calculate qualifying ratios, assess creditworthiness, and provide risk assessments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless and timely closings.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience underwriting FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, and Non-Conforming mortgages.
• Active FHA DE and VA SAR designations required.
• Expert knowledge of Desktop Underwriter (DU) & Loan Prospector/Loan Product Advisor (LP/LPA).
• Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment, carry a pipeline of 200+ loans.
• Proficient in loan calculations (DTI, LTV, etc.).
• Proven ability to thrive remotely and manage multiple loan files simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Drive to build new products.
• HELOC experience a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, and strong understanding of loan processes.
