The OpportunityOur SRE organization designs systems and tooling for an extensible, scalable, and observable platform. We empower development teams to own their application stack, optimizing development velocity while ensuring reliability.
The Skills (Minimum Requirements)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in engineering or SRE, demonstrating system design, deployment, and maintenance knowledge.
- Proven experience with IaC tools, configuration management, or automation frameworks to streamline infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with a major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure), showcasing proficiency in cloud-based service models.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, ArgoCD, etc.) to automate software development and deployment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Practical experience with at least one programming language (Golang, Python, TypeScript/Node.js) for scripting, automation, and custom tool development.
90 Days at Flock
- First 30 Days: Understand our cloud build/deployment process (SDLC), Flock architecture, Terraform/IAC, ML workflows, SRE team charter, and participate in a sprint cycle.
- First 60 Days: Perform role with reduced guidance, complete medium-sized tasks, assist in help-desk requests, and participate in technical discussions.
- 90 Days and Beyond: Perform with little guidance, handle larger engineering tasks, complete a review, and demonstrate proficiency with infrastructure manipulation, tools, and pipelines.
Interview Process
- First Chat: Meet with a recruiter to discuss background, contributions, desired role, and company overview.
- Hiring Manager Interview: Meet with potential manager to discuss role, team, expectations, and success definition.
- Technical Assessment: Test hard skills (coding interviews, architecture discussions).
- Panel: Learn about team, responsibilities, and workflows; discuss projects, collaboration, and values.
- Executive Review: Meet with executive to view company from a different lens.
Compensation
Salary: $100,000-$140,000 + stock options
