Full-Time Site Reliability Engineer - Ireland

Who You'll Work WithArista Networks is seeking Site Reliability Engineers to play a key role in the rollout of internal and customer-facing services. You'll make crucial architectural decisions, design, and implement best practices to advance Software Defined Networking in the cloud. The role combines software and systems engineering to build and operate high-performance, massively distributed, robust systems, optimizing system capacity and performance.

SRE roles are in one of two areas:

• Internal Tools: Design and operate internal systems, including CI/CD pipelines, source repos, and other internal tools.
• External SaaS: Active role impacting a cloud-based public SaaS across all Arista teams.

Both roles provide opportunities to improve quality and availability by designing, choosing, and building best practices and tools.

What You'll Do

• Full Lifecycle Support: Engage in all stages of service lifecycle - from inception, design, deployment, operation, and refinement.
• Pre-Launch Support: Support services before launch through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms, capacity planning, and launch reviews.
• Post-Launch Support: Monitor and maintain services by measuring availability, latency, and overall health.
• Scalability and Reliability: Scale systems sustainably through automation and evolve systems for improved reliability and velocity.
• Incident Response: Practice sustainable incident response and participate in blameless postmortems.

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• Proficient in Go and Python.
• Experience operating cloud-based SaaS.
• Expertise in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience with Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes (K8s).
• Ability to debug, optimize code, and automate routine tasks.
• Understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems.
