As a Software Engineering Manager in the ECS team, you'll be actively engaged in the planning, design, and development of important projects within our D2C organization. You will be a hands-on engineer with expertise in building full-stack cloud-native enterprise applications, splitting your time 50% on development and 50% on leading an engineering team.
You will report to the Director of Software Engineering.
Responsibilities include:
- Guide the development of highly scalable and reliable technical solutions built for quality and performance.
- Contribute hands-on to the development of microservices in our AWS cloud-based architecture, as well as web app development in our micro-frontend architecture.
- Coach, support, and inspire software engineers on the team, focusing on feedback and growth.
- Promote continuous learning and new ideas.
- Drive hiring, training, career plans, and performance reviews for the engineering team.
- Lead the sizing, design, development, and testing of key programs within D2C engineering.
- Actively participate in all levels of the development process (code/design reviews, collaboration with business and project management).
- Own deliverables through ideation, testing, validation, and production deployment.
- Ensure stable Production operations (uptime, performance, reliability).
- Provide leadership on Lean/Agile principles and development practices.
- Maintain standards for regulatory compliance and information security.
Required Skills:
- 8+ years software development experience, with at least 2 years in people management.
- Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Full-stack cloud-native project experience in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- AWS ecosystem experience (especially NodeJS and GraphQL).
- Web application development in Angular and/or React.
- Successful project delivery experience in a people management and/or technical lead role.
- Understanding of design and engineering practices.
- Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools (git, GitHub Actions, Docker).
