Location: Nashville, TN or US Remote
Position Overview: We seek an experienced and strategic Senior API Product Owner to lead our API product development. You'll define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for our API offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and communicate a clear vision and strategy for the API product line, aligned with overall business objectives.
- Define and prioritize features and enhancements based on market trends, customer feedback, and business goals.
- Create and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap for the API portfolio.
- Collaborate with engineering, marketing, and sales for organizational alignment.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure successful product delivery. Engage with customers for feedback.
- Collaborate with development teams to define API specifications, ensuring scalability, security, and usability. Create comprehensive API documentation.
- Oversee the release process, coordinating with development teams for timely and high-quality releases. Monitor and analyze product performance.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies related to APIs. Conduct market research for innovation opportunities.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Product Owner, with a focus on API products.
- Experience with agile development methodologies.
- Technical Skills: Experience with payment APIs (Stripe, PayPal, Tipalti, Dwolla).
- Solid understanding of API design principles and RESTful architecture.
- Familiarity with API management tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing .NET based products, focusing on .NET 8 with Entity Framework.
- Familiarity with OpenAPI specification and Swagger documentation.
- Experience with Azure based applications, Azure products (Cosmos, Durable Functions).
- Experience with API versioning and maintaining multiple API versions in production.
- Measuring API performance, managing alerting, and ensuring five nines uptime.
- Experience with implementing user tracking and engagement metrics to establish API usage patterns.
- Understanding API abuse mitigation strategies.
- Experience with Agile and writing Agile stories in Jira or other ticket tracking platforms.
