Job Details
Apex is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our team for utility-scale wind and solar energy projects.
As a Civil Engineer, you will:
- Manage layout design.
- Conduct site visits.
- Manage relationships with engineering consultants.
- Interface with project management clients.
You'll provide technical leadership for:
- Preliminary design.
- Production forecasting.
- Permitting.
- Electrical interconnection of projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead civil engineering, survey, geotechnical investigation, and foundation design.
- Evaluate project siting constraints and wind turbine technology to optimize layouts.
- Conduct site visits for evaluation and due diligence.
- Manage the design and layout process.
- Collaborate with third-party engineering firms.
- Coordinate facility design with spatial, environmental, and cultural data.
- Develop the initial transportation plan.
- Interface with the project management team.
- Support and maintain Apex’s civil engineering design guidelines.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in civil engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in renewable energy projects.
- Understanding of road, foundation, and grading plan design.
- Experience managing consulting engineering firms.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Google Earth, Excel, and GIS software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
- Willing to travel up to 25%.
