We're seeking a talented and experienced Sr Principal AI Researcher to join the Cortex Foundational Artificial Intelligence Research Team, focused on improving AI systems for cybersecurity.
Impact:
- Advance cybersecurity through applied research in LLMs, Transformer-based Encoders, and Generative AI.
- Design and implement research experiments to enhance AI system accuracy and efficiency.
- Train and fine-tune large-scale language models using GPU-accelerated infrastructure.
- Develop and implement evaluation metrics for assessing model quality.
- Collaborate with engineers to transition research into production-ready systems.
- Communicate research findings and progress to AI experts.
- Publish findings in top-tier AI/ML conferences and journals.
Experience:
- Published research in AI/ML, advanced degree in a relevant field, or equivalent.
- 7+ years of relevant AI experience.
- Proven expertise in training, fine-tuning, and evaluating LLMs.
- Proficiency in deep learning frameworks and large-scale datasets.
- Strong research programming skills in Python, CUDA, TensorRT, or other GPU optimization tools.
- Understanding of machine learning algorithms (LLMs, CNNs, LSTMs, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving skills and collaborative abilities.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience with transformer models beyond text (e.g., structured data).
- Knowledge of model distillation, quantization, or pruning.
- Experience with distributed cloud systems (e.g., GCP, AWS) and containerization tools.
- Prior application of AI/ML to cybersecurity problems.
- Understanding of data privacy and security in AI.
Compensation:
Starting base salary between $179,000 and $290,500 per year, potentially including stock units and bonuses.
