MagicSchool Staff Accountant

MagicSchool is seeking a talented Staff Accountant to join its accounting team.

Core Responsibilities:

• Daily cash management; reconcile and maintain cash accounts.
• Oversee credit card processing (Stripe).
• Oversee invoiced A/R and customer collections; communicate with customers as needed.
• Manage vendor payments, A/P subledger, and communication with vendors.
• Manage employee travel & expense management.
• Assist HR with payroll processing and variable compensation.
• Participate in month-end close process.
• Support tax compliance (state, local, sales tax, VAT).
• Assist Accounting Manager with accounting & reporting needs.
• Play an active role in other finance & accounting aspects (banking, risk, insurance, financing, tax, financial planning, investor relations).
• Handle specific projects and ad hoc assignments.

Key Competencies:

• Strong understanding of US GAAP and general ledger/month-end processes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets.
• Experience with accounting software (preferably Quickbooks).
• Strong communication skills and ability to multitask.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• 1-3 years of accounting experience; public accounting experience a plus.
• CPA a plus.
