MUST BE BASED IN CHICAGO AREA.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our Accounting and Finance team working remotely based in Chicagoland. Reporting to the Controller, in this role, you will play a key part in ensuring financial accuracy and supporting the organization’s financial operations.
The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment, has strong analytical skills, and a high attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct weekly review and categorization of bank, credit card transactions, and vendor bills. Communicate with staff to ensure proper GL account and department assignments.
- Record daily deposit batches from merchant services, performing necessary research and resolving discrepancies in collaboration with the A/R team.
- Prepare monthly reconciliation of bank and credit card accounts.
- Reconcile accounting data with MX subsidiary transactions on a monthly basis.
- Perform monthly reconciliation of Salesforce Closed-Won Sales with new billings in MedTrainer’s ERP software.
- Review monthly Profit and Loss (P&L) statements and perform variance analyses.
- Record bi-weekly payroll accrual journal entries and disbursements for U.S. and Mexico teams.
- Assist the Controller with month-end close processes and corporate compliance tasks, including federal, state, and local tax filings.
- Support corporate and operational projects as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
- Proficiency in NetSuite and QuickBooks is required; experience with Salesforce is preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including XLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a remote setting with the ability to attend occasional team meet ups and meet deadlines.
Salary $75-85k with full benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and FSA.
