Full-Time Staff Accountant (UK, Remote)

Staff Accountant will play a vital role in Turnitin’s Accounting Team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintenance of general ledger and associated accounting of Turnitin’s US & International Entities
2. Assisting in Turnitin’s Year End Audits
3. Working with Turnitin’s Tax Team to ensure deliverables of VAT and Corporate Tax Reporting
4. Preparation of monthly journal entries and reconciliations for all non-revenue related G/L accounts
5. Reconciliation of cash accounts during the month-end close ensuring all cash activity is properly reflected in the General Ledger
6. Ensuring accuracy over Prepayments and Accruals at Month End
7. Posting of Payroll Journals
8. Preparation of monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations and investigation of reconciling items
9. Preparation of detailed Variance Analysis reports for management review
10. Assist with support to internal customers including ad-hoc financial analysis, and special projects
11. Participation in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures
12. Assisting in Cash Management and Cash Forecasting

Qualifications/Experience:

• Part Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with Accounting & Finance experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Advanced Excel skills and hands-on exposure to accounting systems (NetSuite preferred)
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues
• Strong written and oral communication skills along with strong interpersonal skills and relationship building
• Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to prioritize and manage workload involving multiple tasks, responsibilities and deadlines with follow-through and minimal supervision
• Self-starter and proactive thinker
