Full-Time Staff Product Designer

At Included Health, we’re on a mission to raise the standard of healthcare for everyone—and design plays a critical role in making that happen. We’re looking for a Staff Product Designer to champion visual design excellence on our team, ensuring a simple, polished, compelling user experience across our products.

This is a high-impact, strategic role where you’ll define visual standards by managing our design system, bringing visual expertise to our member experience, and collaborating with marketing on branding and storytelling.

You’ll have the autonomy to drive meaningful change, the opportunity to influence teams across the company, and the support of a collaborative, mission-driven team that values design excellence.

Champion Visual Design Excellence:

• Set the bar for visual design across our products and services—defining what great looks like and ensuring that our member experience is trustworthy, simple, clear and compelling.
• Educate and inspire teams across disciplines on how strong visual design builds member trust and enhances the overall experience.
• Lead critiques, workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions to grow the team’s visual design craft.

Partner with Brand Marketing:

• Translate and evolve the IH brand across digital product surfaces.

Audit and refine existing experiences:

• Bring them in line with visual design best practices.

Lead and Scale the Design System:

• Own the vision and strategy for Included Health’s design system and ensure that it meets the needs of designers, engineers, and the business.
• Define and evolve foundational components, patterns, and guidelines to create a cohesive, accessible, and scalable design language.
• Advocate for accessibility and inclusivity, ensuring our system meets WCAG standards and serves diverse user needs.
• Partner with engineering to ensure seamless implementation, high-quality execution, and performance optimization.
• Establish governance and contribution models, enabling designers and engineers to contribute while maintaining consistency and quality.
• Facilitate workshops, critiques, and training sessions to educate teams and drive adoption.

Drive Innovation and Future Thinking:

• Stay ahead of industry trends, bringing new ideas and methodologies to elevate our visual design excellence and standards.
• Explore emerging technologies, such as AI-driven design tools, to enhance visual excellence and creativity.
• Continuously refine and evolve our definition of what good looks like and how our systems support this at scale based on feedback, data, and business needs.
