About the Role: Translucent seeks a Staff Product Designer to lead and build a design team. This is a ground-floor opportunity in a hyper-collaborative environment, with autonomy and significant impact across the entire product.
What You'll Do:
- Design for Scale: Build and refine products for thousands of customers, ensuring user-centric design for diverse use cases.
- Obsess Over Craft: Focus on simplicity and seamlessness in complex financial tasks.
- Experiment and Innovate: Drive experimentation, user testing, and measurement to refine products, aligning with customer needs.
- Be a Cross-Functional Leader: Collaborate with business, marketing, sales, product, and engineering.
- Set the Design Standard: Lead by example, mentor, and manage team members; foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
- Stay Hands-On: Own the full design process, from discovery to design specifications.
Requirements:
- Startup Experience: 7+ years designing and shipping products at scale in fast-paced environments.
- Design Expertise: Translate complex challenges into elegant solutions; understanding of implementation.
- Fintech Experience (Preferred): Experience with financial tools or data-rich interfaces.
- Customer Obsession: Deep empathy for users and addressing pain points.
- AI Exploration: Passion for leveraging AI to enhance design workflows.
- Systematic Thinking: Experience in design systems for complex products.
- Leadership: Mentoring, inspiring, building high-performing teams.
Benefits: Salary up to £110k + option package, 23 days holiday + holidays between Christmas and New Year + local holidays. Remote, UK/PT timezone +/- 2 hours.
