The role, in a nutshell: We are looking for a Staff Product Manager to oversee the development and improvement of Chainguard’s secure supply chain ecosystem. You will work alongside other PMs and cross-functional stakeholders to help lead, develop and manage the product roadmap and vision. You will develop a strong understanding of customer needs and work with engineering to define elegant, differentiating product solutions with well defined priorities. You have to be able to work through ambiguity to be able to get results. Leverage your relationships with key internal stakeholders to align on priorities and provide prioritized use cases for your engineering partners.
What you’ll do:
- Develop and propose business cases for new products or features.
- Create written documents defining the problem, solutions, success measures, targets, cross-functional requirements, and ROI.
- Launch new products and features, evaluating their performance, and iterating quickly.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Marketing, UX, and other cross-functional teams.
- Develop innovative solutions through collaboration across regions, product areas, and functions.
- Drive the strategy, roadmap and planning cycles.
- Drive execution against the roadmap.
What we’re looking for:
- Technical experience (prior developer experience or proven success with senior technical teams) is a must.
- Knowledge of packaging and distribution of language ecosystem libraries (Java, Python, Javascript, Rust, etc.).
- Prior experience launching 0 to 1 products and managing all aspects of major launches with demonstrated good judgment around risk management, scope, and tradeoffs.
- Ability to navigate complex decision-making and communicate effectively across teams.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and leaders.
- Ability to define clear requirements, write high-level documents, prepare and present material company-wide, and sell initiatives to the executive team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; deep customer engagements, hands-on execution and timely delivery.
- Ability to adapt and work in a fast-paced environment.
