Role The scope of Strategic Sourcing Manager is to build strong relationships with internal business units and drive enterprise-wide sourcing, category management, contract negotiation, and delivery of the Marketing category, including Event Management, Event Venue, Advertising, Creative, Market Research, Promotional Items, Lead Generation, and Print.
Provide subject matter expertise and strategic guidance within categories; manage and execute sourcing processes and procedures.
This role provides leadership and direction for Strategic Sourcing in support of Marketing functions.
Responsibilities
- Conducts supplier analysis, evaluates potential suppliers, supports supplier qualification.
- Develops sourcing plans and category strategies, creates RFPs, and other sourcing documents.
- Evaluates and recommends purchasing/sourcing decisions.
- Reviews spend analysis, identifies cost savings and avoidance opportunities.
- Tracks and reports key functional metrics to reduce expenses.
- Crafts negotiation strategies and closes deals.
- Partners with stakeholders for clear requirements documentation.
- Performs cost, scenario, and benchmarking analysis.
- Assesses, manages, and mitigates risks.
- Seeks and partners with reliable vendors/suppliers.
- Determines quantity and timing of deliveries.
- Monitors and forecasts demand.
- Seeks industry knowledge through research, trade shows, conferences, and training.
Qualifications
- 4+ years strategic sourcing experience, 2+ years sourcing marketing category.
- In-depth knowledge of sourcing landscape managing Marketing spend in events.
- Experience with Advertising, Creative, Event Venue, Market Research, Promotional Items, Marketing, Lead Generation, Print is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills for internal and external collaboration.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
- Expert knowledge of office productivity software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Working knowledge of RFP process.
- Strategic and tactical sourcing experience.
- Ability to articulate category strategies, negotiate, network, gather and analyze data, make good decisions.
- Ability to work independently.
