Strategic Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for developing the global sourcing strategy for the Professional Services category.
Recognized as the sourcing expert for Professional Services categories, this role liaises with legal, acts as Procurement ambassador to the business, and integrates into the business for complete alignment and deep understanding of business goals.
Goals include being value-added sourcing partners to the business. Develop negotiation strategies, advise requestors on contract terms and conditions, monitor cost and scope, and assure compliance for assigned contracts.
Recommend cost savings proposals, including alternative sourcing, and exercise independent judgment.
Perform Sourcing and contract-related activities for Professional Services in WD, requiring knowledge in managing outside services (advertising, PR, etc.), market intelligence, e-commerce, and web operations. Support business owners in a fast-paced environment.
Provide excellent strategic sourcing support to business partners for a competitive advantage.
Drive improvements in key metrics like cost, quality, deliverables, and cycle-time.
Drive process improvements, assist with projects, and provide feedback on market conditions, supplier relationships, quality, and customer service.
Manage supplier relationships (selection, qualification, reviews, scorecards, corrective actions, cost reduction programs).
Perform should-cost analysis, implement cost reduction initiatives, and lead/support best-in-class practices and system/process improvements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with stakeholders to identify and qualify suppliers, initiate RFXs, and advise on contract terms.
- Create and teach market & supplier analyses, forming sourcing strategies based on market trends, internal/external roadmaps, and WD objectives.
- Lead RFPs and cross-functional teams for supplier selection, evaluating proposals.
- Negotiate General Procurement agreements (Master Agreements, Statements of Work, Change Orders).
- Analyze proposals for Professional Services, assisting with ROI analysis, price benchmarking, and favorable business terms.
- Provide global contract expertise for sourcing Professional Services.
- Establish/execute Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) sourcing strategy (should cost models).
- Develop negotiation plans and strategies for cost savings.
- Develop and share knowledge on Procurement Policy, BU/Category strategies, benchmarking, and expertise to ensure strategy robustness.
- Develop, refine, and implement category strategies for Professional Services alignment with business goals.
- Become a subject matter expert on Professional Services categories, advising clients on industry trends, and best practices.
- Lead cross-functional meetings with communication strategies.
- Manage supplier relationships focusing on supply, contract, and cost management.
- Mediate supplier issues and resolve contract disputes.
- Lead/participate in periodic business reviews with vendors.
- Develop supplier rationalization entitlements.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements for contract and sourcing processes and systems.
- Ensure pricing and deliverables are included in contracts, and coordinate proposal comparisons.
- Act as liaison between Legal and the business.
