Job Details
AECOM is seeking a Structural Engineer to support our Energy Practice’s Grid Modernization Initiative. Freedom to Grow program offers flexibility in work schedules and locations.
Our team provides civil and structural engineering services across markets including:
- Electrical transmission and distribution
- Renewables (Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems, Wind)
- Industrial process (Oil & Gas, petrochemical)
- Building decarbonization and next generation energy (hydrogen, fuel cells, electrolyzers, etc.)
Responsibilities:
- Leading / Supporting engineering and design for substations
- Perform engineering calculations and developing analytical models
- Developing workload forecasts, design schedules and budgets
- Assists with developing task and effort estimates for proposal support
- Coordination with civil/structural design team
- Creating, updating, and implementing group specific standards
- Prepare technical reports and presentations
- Preparation of project technical specifications and contract documents
- Check and verify work prepared by peer/group
Minimum Requirements:
BA/BS + 2 years or more of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional engineering licensure or EIT
- 6+ years of experience preferred
- Experience with structural analysis and design software
- Experience working with remote teams
- Experience with California Electric Utilities
