Job Details
AECOM is seeking a Surveying Technician for one of our offices in Sacramento, CA. This role is open to remote work.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in reviewing and organizing incoming survey data packages related to right-of-way, property boundaries, and land acquisition
- Support the preparation of legal descriptions and plat maps
- Assist in assembling QA/QC packages
- Conduct basic research on land title records, deeds, and survey data
- Input and edit data using CAD and mapping software
- Help maintain organized digital and physical filing systems
- Follow established procedures to ensure compliance with survey standards
- Provide general technical support to survey staff
Minimum Requirements:
BA/BS + 2 years of relevant experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Requirements:
- Working knowledge of surveying principles
- Proficiency in interpreting and creating legal descriptions and associated plat maps
- Familiarity with the California Coordinate System
- Experience using CAD applications (AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar)
- Understanding of relevant laws and standards
- Ability to interpret survey data and perform precise calculations and measurements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field
- Certification as a Land Surveyor-in-Training (LSIT)
