About the team + role
The Technical Accounting team’s mission is to deliver critical insights and provide expertise to facilitate the application of Robinhood’s accounting policies in a dynamic environment while helping democratize finance for all. As a Technical Accounting Manager, you will be a subject matter expert on technical accounting and financial reporting matters. You will help to build and maintain Robinhood’s accounting policies and address technical accounting issues arising from business transactions, new products, and implementation of new accounting pronouncements.
What you’ll do
- Establish, develop, and maintain Robinhood’s accounting policies
- Identify, analyze, and apply technical accounting guidance
- Document technical accounting positions
- Monitor, assess and implement new accounting pronouncements
- Perform business combination accounting
- Apply revenue guidance to new products
- Be a trusted business partner to Finance, Product, Legal, and Tax
- Be a proactive liaison with external auditors
What you bring
- 5-8 years of progressive experience in a technical accounting role
- Public accounting experience; Big 4 or national firm experience preferred
- Prior experience designing, implementing, and documenting technical accounting policies and procedures
- Excellent knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Ability to interpret complex technical guidance
