Job Description:
ECS is seeking a UX Designer to help create innovative solutions that will enable scaling, quality improvement, and collaboration.
In this role, you will support robust user research efforts from start to finish, harnessing a variety of methods to form a deep understanding of user needs and identify opportunities for enhancements. The ideal candidate possesses experience planning and executing user research, using their findings to reveal key insights that guide the design of dynamic services, applications, and websites that exceed the expectations of both stakeholders and end users.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support the planning, design, and implementation of multiple sites and applications across multiple clients simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Lead all phases of user research and analysis needed to inform the creation of highly usable web pages, application interfaces, and other dynamic solutions.
- Collaborate with engineers and clients to define, design, and implement innovative, beautiful, intuitive solutions for use by our customers and their stakeholders.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas for websites and applications.
- Create scalable design resources to aid in project collaboration and the expansion of ECS creative services.

Required Skills:
- Must be a US Citizen.

- 5+ years professional design experience (such as UCD, UI/UX design, HCI, human-machine teaming, human-AI interaction).
- Expertise in user research methodologies, user-centered design principles and frameworks, and user interface design standards.
- Understanding of user personas, user flows, affinity mapping, and other research tools.
- Experience designing within Atlassian Confluence.
- Strong understanding of the life cycle process of website development (discovery, planning, design, requirements, coding, testing, and user testing and evaluation).
- Experience evaluating existing systems and processes to identify UX issues (such as accessibility and flow) and develop recommendations.
- Experience prioritizing features while accounting for user goals and business requirements.
- Experience carrying designs from start to finish, from wireframes to delivery of final high-fidelity mockups and other assets as required.
- Experience establishing and maintaining rapid customer feedback loops to inform design at critical stages.
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong online portfolio that showcases the candidate’s past research experience and deliverables (e.g., research plans, reports, journey maps, user personas).
- Success on projects designed from scratch and redesigns for established platforms or products.
- Experience using Agile methodology to manage projects.
- Results-oriented problem solver with high standards for quality, accuracy, attention to detail, and overall excellence.
- Self-starter, motivated, and confident, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Figma.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally within an organization.
- Experience in creating content that complies with Section 508.
- Experience working with government clients, particularly in the federal government.
