Full-Time UXO Safety Officer

• Must meet the criteria for and perform the functions of a UXO-TIII.
• Implement explosives and health and safety plans.
• Ensure compliance with site plans.
• Analyze potential risks associated with MEC-related activities.
• Verify compliance with explosives safety requirements.

• High school diploma + 4 years of experience.
• Current driver’s license.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Valid US Passport through 11/2026
• 40-hour HAZWOPER
• 8-hour OSHA Supervisor (initial)
• 10-hour or 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety
• US Citizenship is required

In accordance with DDESB TP-18, a UXOSO shall meet the following minimum qualifications:

• Graduate of a military EOD assistant course; or an accredited UXO technician training course; or military EOD school of the US, Canada, Great Britain, Germany, or Australia.
• On-the-job training with MEC-related activities.
• Military EOD school graduates: 1 year minimum MEC-related experience, 1/2 year minimum MEC-Supervisory experience, 8 years total EOD and MEC experience.
• Accredited UXO School graduates: 8 years minimum MEC-related experience. 2 years minimum MEC-Supervisory experience. 10 years minimum total MEC experience.
• Graduate of an OSHA-compliant 8-hour Management and Supervisor Training Course.
• Understanding of applicable explosives safety criteria and experience in munitions response or range clearance activities.
• Must have completed a 10-hour OSHA Construction Safety and Health Training.

• Meet the requirements for a SSHO Level 1 in accordance with USACE EM 385-1-1 (2024)
• Explosive Ordnance Disposal certificate
• 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety
• 40-hour EM 385-1-1 Hazard Recognition Training
