Full-Time Vice President Municipal Engineer

We are seeking a visionary and experienced VP Municipal Engineer to join our team in Toronto, Canada.

As a key member of our senior leadership, you will:

• Oversee large-scale municipal projects.
• Lead engineering teams.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to drive sustainable urban development and infrastructure improvements.
• Develop and implement strategic plans for municipal engineering projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
• Lead and mentor a diverse team of engineers and technical professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
• Oversee project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation for efficient and cost-effective delivery.
• Collaborate with clients (city officials, regulatory bodies, adjusters, insurers, legal professionals and community stakeholders) to investigate, analyze and report on municipal infrastructure claims and losses.
• Evaluate and mitigate risks associated with complex engineering projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards and municipal codes.
• Drive the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and best practices in municipal engineering.
• Represent the organization in high-level meetings, conferences, and public forums.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) license in Ontario, with the ability to gain P.Eng. registration in other provinces.
• 20+ years of experience in municipal engineering, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record in managing large-scale municipal projects.
• Proven track record in forensic engineering investigations, analysis, and reporting.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor engineering teams.
• Excellent strategic planning and decision-making abilities.
• In-depth knowledge of municipal codes, regulations, and environmental compliance standards.
• Proficiency in CAD software, GIS systems, and project management tools.
• Expertise in urban planning, infrastructure design, and public works operations.
• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and implement best practices in municipal engineering.
