Our WHS Specialist is responsible for driving Montu's health and safety strategy, ensuring compliance with legislation, managing physical and psychological risks, and promoting wellbeing in a fast-paced, remote, healthtech environment.
Provide expert WHS advice, ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.
Identify, assess, and mitigate psychosocial risks, including workplace stress, burnout, and mental health challenges.
Manage return-to-work cases and workplace injury claims, coordinating with healthcare providers and internal stakeholders.
Conduct risk assessments, investigations, and implement corrective actions for workplace safety incidents.
Deliver WHS training programs and drive continuous improvement in safety initiatives.
Oversee emergency preparedness, incident reporting, and hazard management.
Support the Montu WHS Committee, coordinating meetings, onboarding, and action tracking.
Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate safety considerations into business processes.
Provide regular WHS performance reports to senior leadership.
Maintain and enhance Montu's WHS Framework and wellbeing strategies.
Diploma in Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) or equivalent. 3–5 years’ experience in a WHS role. Start-up or Scale-up experience highly regarded. Hybrid, remote & multidisciplinary experience preferred.
Proven experience managing Return-to-Work (RTW) programs and Workers’ Compensation claims, with strong knowledge of relevant legislation.In-depth understanding of national WHS legislation and compliance requirements.
Experience designing and delivering WHS training programs.
Strong incident reporting and investigation skills, particularly in psychosocial risk management.
ICAM Lead Investigator certification (desirable).
Proficiency in safety software systems management.
Experience conducting WHS audits across multiple business units.
