Job Details
Trupanion is looking for an Accountant who will play a key role in the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations and analytics. This role will work collaboratively across the finance team to complete monthly close tasks and duties. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of prioritizing and managing tasks and projects with competing deadlines, and a passion for process improvement. This is a hands-on position that will gain exposure to a variety of areas while helping the company to scale rapidly.

Key Responsibilities Include:
- Contribute to monthly close in accordance with US GAAP.
- Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations in areas such as revenue, claims, and cash.
- Work on ad-hoc special projects and analysis, including support for statutory reporting efforts.
- Prepare internal and external deliverables for SEC reporting, quarterly reviews, and year-end audits.
- Recommend, implement, and document process improvements to promote efficiency and SOX compliance.
Experience:
- 2-3 years of accounting experience required.
- Month-end close in a fast-paced environment and/or public accounting experience would be a plus.
- Experience in a multi-entity environment is a plus.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
- Experienced with GAAP and financial statements.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, Workday experience a plus.
- Strong analytical ability and detail oriented.
- Desire to creatively problem-solve and innovate processes.
Education, Registration & Certification:
- BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, equivalent experience accepted.
- CPA preferred
