Job Details
As an Art Director, you will be responsible for defining and executing the overall artistic vision of Techland games (in the Dying Light Universe) and ensuring excellence in all aspects of in-game visual assets.
Daily tasks:
- Creation of artistic visions for Techland games based on the Creative Director's direction.
- Communication of the vision to adequate teams.
- Maintaining the vision throughout the whole development process.
- Creation of the visual and stylistic direction for game content.
- Monitoring all visual assets in terms of quality and visual consistency.
- Guidance and support for artists and team leads.
- Focus on game-oriented asset creation pipelines through close collaboration with Technical Art Director.
- Managing the effective creation of visual assets, according to the applicable methodology.
- Caring for the development of a team of artists, and active participation in recruiting new employees to the art department.
Experience:
- 10+ years experience in the video game art field
- 5+ years experience as a Lead Artist or Art Director
- Proven track record of AAA titles (at least 2), preferably post-apocalyptic.
- Deep passion for video games (open worlds).
- Experience in art team management and creating new teams from scratch.
Skills:
- Excellent artistic skills (composition, light, color, etc.).
- Extensive knowledge of character, object, world, animation, and other asset creation.
- Ability to direct assets creation to optimize them to support gameplay, style, and narrative principles.
- Good knowledge of recent toolset (Zbrush, Painter, Photoshop, etc.).
- Good technical awareness to push quality from a technical side when necessary.
- Some knowledge of level and game design rules and needs.
- Clear, professional, and positive communication skills.
- Very good command of English.
