This Benefits Specialist will support the benefit processes for NIQ’s US and Canadian benefit programs covering approximately 3300 employees.
This role handles the day-to-day administrative tasks supporting NIQ’s benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, and retirement plans.
- Employee Support and Issue Resolution: Provide excellent customer service to employees, managers, HR, and vendors regarding benefit inquiries. Research issues and escalate to the Benefits Program Manager or Director if necessary.
- Enrollment Data: Maintain enrollment data for new hires and terminations for the Canadian benefit programs.
- Leave of absences: Respond to leave inbox messages, track leave requests, and update leave status in Workday HR. Partner with vendors for accurate data, employee communication, and excellent service on LOA. Review LOA processes for improvement opportunities.
- Tuition reimbursement program: Process applications, respond to questions, and ensure timely and accurate payments.
- Retirement plans: Support the day-to-day administration of the 401(k) and Canadian retirement plans.
- Invoice Support: Serve as backup to the Benefits Coordinator, processing vendor invoices, setting up new vendors in ARIBA, answering vendor questions, and resolving payment discrepancies.
- Other: Support other benefit department initiatives and programs as needed.
Requirements:
- High school diploma, bachelor's degree preferred
- 2+ years experience in benefit plan administration, including annual enrollment, audits, vendor partnerships, non-discrimination testing, leave of absence processes, and employee communication/training materials.
- Strong Excel skills and analytical experience using Excel to analyze and compare datasets, identify discrepancies, use pivot tables, and logic formulas (VLOOKUP, concatenate).
- Understanding of 401(k), ERISA, ACA, compliance, and benefit-related regulations
- Experience with Workday or similar HRIS systems and data integrations with vendor systems.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and initiative.
