BSN Program -Faculty
Walden's College of Nursing seeks nursing faculty for the BSN program within the Course-Based curriculum. Part-time commitments. Share your professional experience and academic knowledge with students. With a computer and high-speed internet, teach on your own schedule.
GENERAL SUMMARY: Walden contributing faculty are student-facing faculty roles. Faculty are assigned to one or more 6-week courses.
- Work directly with students on questions and challenges.
- Engage regularly with students on course content, discussions, assignments, and assessments.
- Hold weekly office hours.
- Be present and engaged in the course at least 4 days per week.
- Communicate effectively with students throughout the course.
- Respond promptly to student questions and posts.
- Grade submitted coursework within 5 days of due date.
- Grade discussions within 48 hours of the due date.
- Use detailed rubrics for student assessment.
- Provide feedback that encourages good work.
- Track student engagement and identify students needing intervention.
- Assure curriculum quality (development, review, ongoing improvement).
- Establish regular, structured contact with students.
- Develop sensitivity to cultural differences.
- Develop online discussion catalysts to stimulate engagement.
- Encourage student risk-taking and learning.
- Create an atmosphere of mutual respect.
- Monitor student work for academic integrity.
- Review course content and update materials as needed.

Course Teaching/Availability:
- Assigned to 6-week courses.
- Collaborate with Student Success Advising and other faculty.
- Interact with students within course context.
- Discussion Boards and online activities are open 24/7.
- Respond to student inquiries within 48 hours.
- Return assessments with feedback within 5 days.
- Publish availability to students (office hours, online chats).
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Earned Master’s in Nursing (MSN) and Doctorate (preferably in Nursing).
- Professional expertise in Undergraduate research and Capstone change project.
- Primary residence in a Compact state and current compact RN licensure in the U.S.
- Record of professional scholarly contributions.
- Minimum 1 year online teaching experience.
- Minimum 2 years teaching undergraduate courses.
- Commitment to advocating for distance learning students.
- Experience with distance learning preferred.
- Excellent communication, team, and human relations skills.
Technology Requirements: Adequate computer, keyboard, monitor, reliable Internet access, alternate access.

Licensing/Certification: Appropriate credentials, earned doctorate, possible licensure, maintain licenses and certifications, maintain currency with research.
Compensation: $1,560 - $4,080 per Quarter/Semester (Graduate); $700 - $2,200 per quarter (Undergraduate).
