GENERAL SUMMARY: The School of Nursing seeks Contributing (Part-Time) faculty for the DNP program with online teaching experience and doctoral student mentoring experience. A Contributing (Part-Time) academic faculty member will report to the Academic Program Coordinator and work closely with Academic Coordinators, academic advising, and administrative staff.
Opportunities for Contributing faculty:
- Serve as committee chair, or faculty advisor and/or second member of doctoral project study committees.
What to expect as a Walden faculty member:
- Educate students effectively using online technology and resources for knowledge sharing, timely feedback, and well-written communications. Be respectful of students, Walden University, and the discipline.
- Adhere to all Walden University Faculty expectations.
- Receive training in teaching techniques, e-learning platforms, policies, procedures, degree programs, Walden culture, assessment of academic integrity, and DNP project supervision.
Course Teaching/Availability:
- Assigned course taught on the CANVAS platform.
- Interact with students on Discussion Boards (open 24/7).
- Post responses to student questions within 48 hours.
- Minimum of 4 days per week classroom presence.
External Requirements:
- Appropriate credentials, accredited degree, potential licensure for specific programs.
- Maintain licenses and certifications.
- Stay current with research by reviewing articles, journals, and presentations.
- May publish and acknowledge Walden University if participating in research.
Tools/Technical Skills:
- Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily.
- Performance evaluation based on essential function performance.

Required qualifications:
- Earned MSN and DNP (preferably in Nursing or a related field).
- Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner certification or executive leadership experience preferred.
- Expertise in scholarship, theory, nursing education, and online teaching experience.
- Commitment to advocating for student learning and development.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and human relations skills.
- Current, active, and unrestricted RN licensure in one of the 50 US states.
Compensation:
- Graduate course instruction: $1,560 - $4,080 per quarter/semester (varies by course type and length).
- Undergraduate course instruction: $700 - $2,200 per quarter (varies by course type and length).
- Actual pay adjusted based on job-related factors (course type, experience, location, certifications, market factors, and departmental budgets).
