Opportunity at a Glance We are interested in developing long-term relationships with superior instructors who have high professional standards, excellent communication skills, enthusiasm and a commitment to providing the finest practitioner-focused education. We are seeking primarily Industry Professionals to share their knowledge and experience with undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of fields. Courses meet once or twice a week for eight weeks. The face-to-face interaction is blended with technology (such as online discussions and online assignments) for an enhanced learning environment. Commitment is on a course-by-course basis.
The typical course of instruction may include:
- NR562 - Leadership & Management Within Complex Healthcare SystemsThis course focuses on advanced processes and skills needed to support safe, high-quality nursing care through leadership and management at the organizational and systems level. A major focus is connecting, challenging and embracing change improvement within complex healthcare settings. The influence of systems level concepts on providing quality and safe person-centered nursing care are addressed. Principles related to healthcare problems and solution strategies within the environment of care are emphasized.
Responsibilities
- Inspire students to complete their programs by providing regular, meaningful feedback about their academic performance, development and participation while encouraging them to engage fully in their education
- Engage students in meaningful asynchronous threaded discussions at least 4 days per week, moderating participation, evaluating responses and rationales, and responding to questions or comments
- Evaluate academic progress and comprehension of course content through assigning and grading quizzes, exams and writing assignments
- Exhibit Chamberlain Care™ by displaying behaviors of care, respect and professionalism, creating a culture that fosters collaboration, cooperation and respect among all
Requirements
- MSN and DNP or PhD in nursing degree
- Active unencumbered compact nursing license (highly preferred)
- Illinois RN License will be required to teach all courses. (priority given to candidates who are currently licensed in Illinois)
- Must have subject matter expertise in the course of instruction
- Faculty must have excellent communication, motivational, and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment
- Proficient in using MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), WebEx/Teams (or similar platform) and Internet
Compensation In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected compensation rate for this position is between $715/Earned Credit Hour to $1,950/Earned Credit Hour, depending on the candidate’s education and experience. Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as type of course taught; experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
