The Clinical Science Liaison, Oncology provides scientific and technical leadership while educating community-based physicians on the most current study findings (abstracts and publications), encouraging the clinical value of Guardant Health's product(s). The role covers North Carolina and South Carolina.
The Clinical Science Liaison, Oncology seeks opportunities to:
- Engage with physicians to review real-world cases and address questions related to test reports.
- Further progress the understanding of novel diagnostic technologies.
- Identify opportunities for collaboration on relevant research projects.
- Ensure a strong scientific partnership between Medical Affairs and Commercial.
- Build relationships with local/regional professional societies and health plans to provide education regarding emerging abstracts and publications.
- Play an integral role in accelerating patient care advancement through intrinsic motivation, curiosity, persistence, and collaboration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide scientific and technical leadership for professional and credible relationships with key community physicians and KOLs to promote understanding and adoption of novel diagnostic technologies.
- Be a resource for community physicians to evaluate and provide guidance on interpretation of real-world patient test reports.
- Facilitate educational growth and understanding through presentation of scientific content.
- Identify opportunities for collaboration with KOLs to present at scientific forums (national and regional).
- Synthesize and educate key staff regarding emerging abstracts and publications.
- Facilitate medical and scientific field intelligence, including provider/investigator lists.
- Elicit feedback on current and future products and share insights with internal commercial and research divisions.
- Understand competitive research activities and communicate insights within Guardant.
- Prepare and present clinical requests for information.
Qualifications:
- Terminal degree in a scientific field (Genetic Counselor, NP/PA, Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., or academic equivalent).
- Clinical expertise or related experience in Oncology.
- Minimum 1-3 years of healthcare experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
- Experience working with clinicians to build consensus.
- Track record of independent presentations.
- Prior experience in introducing novel clinical products is highly desired.
Skills and Abilities:
- Applies advanced knowledge of biotechnology, diagnostics, and pharmaceutical industry.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other software.
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and remotely.
- Multi-tasking abilities.
- Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and time management skills.
- Exceptional human relations skills.
- Ability to answer clinical questions.
Work Environment:
- Extensive travel (up to 3-4 days/overnight per week).
- Hybrid work model: defined in-person/onsite and work-from-home days.
Salary: $141,000 - $193,850 (USD).
Benefits: Not included in salary range.
