Job Location: Akuo Texas office and Hybrid. Remote candidates need to travel to the San Antonio office quarterly.
About the Role:
Manage, oversee, and coordinate Akuo's, affiliates', and 3rd party customers' ISO-RTO, NERC, and other regulatory agencies' compliance activities.
Work directly with the Asset Management & Operations (AM&O) Team, compliance stakeholders, and Subject Matter Experts to implement and maintain a sustainable culture of compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and update internal compliance programs.
- Analyze data, develop/modify reports, and compare processes/procedures to industry best practices.
- Prepare and submit regulatory compliance reports.
- Conduct mock audits and lead external audits, self-certifications, and regulatory inspections.
- Develop and communicate regulatory processes, guidelines, and needs.
- Work with Site Operations to implement tasks/tracking to meet requirements.
- Provide real-time advice to personnel.
- Identify and lead resolutions for noncompliance issues/conflicts of interest.
- Manage registration processes, rule impact analysis, test controls, and legal entity identifier registrations.
- Educate/train personnel on compliance procedures and new regulations.
- Lead business units in reviewing/revising compliance processes.
- Maintain job knowledge on NERC/RE/ISO reliability and compliance standards.
- Maintain awareness of new/revised standards and action plans.
- Work closely with ROCC and OT/Network teams for compliance guidance.
- Hold regular meetings with stakeholders.
- Participate in industry organizations, conferences, workshops, and forums.
- Coordinate compliance projects (scope, budget, schedule).
- Assist in the budgeting process.
Qualifications:
- Renewable Energy sector experience.
- Bachelor's degree in business or engineering.
- 5+ years of compliance or operations experience.
- Understanding of electric generation/transmission systems.
- Knowledge of FERC, NERC, and ISO/RTO operating procedures.
- Ability to read/interpret complex regulations.
- Strong planning, organization, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- High integrity and reliability.
- Successful pre-employment drug test and background check.
- Project management knowledge (preferred).
- Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, critical thinking, and out-of-the-box thinking.
- Authorization to work in the US.
