WHAT DOES A CONTENT ENGINEER DO?
The Content Engineer is accountable for architecting, automating, and optimizing the end-to-end lifecycle of modular content and digital assets across EVERSANA's pharma clients and business units. This role connects strategic objectives with technical execution—translating business and regulatory requirements into scalable content models, metadata schemes, and automated workflows.
The Content Engineer serves as both a subject‐matter expert and hands‐on implementer, ensuring our DAM platform (e.g., Veeva Vault) and AI-enabled content-assembly tools deliver on promises of speed, precision, and cost efficiency.
- Lead the design and governance of enterprise content models (XML/JSON schemas, component libraries) that support reuse across regulatory, commercial, and patient-facing channels.
- Define and maintain metadata taxonomies, controlled vocabularies, and tagging rules to enable discoverability, AI-driven asset generation, and compliance.
- Oversee the technical configuration and integration of DAM systems (Veeva Vault, Adobe Experience Manager, etc.), including ingestion pipelines, lifecycle rules, and API orchestration.
- Build and maintain automation scripts or middleware connectors to streamline asset ingestion, processing, review routing (MLR), and publishing.
- Partner with Agency, Patient Services, Deployment Solutions, and Med Affairs teams to translate business and regulatory needs into implementable technical requirements.
- Facilitate workshops, “office hours,” and training sessions to drive adoption of content-engineering best practices and self-service capabilities.
- Establish and enforce metadata governance processes, access controls, and audit procedures to ensure asset integrity and regulatory compliance.
- Perform regular system health checks, metadata audits, and taxonomy reviews—identifying gaps and remediating issues proactively.
- Provide hands-on support for regulatory submission packages and promotional collateral by assembling, validating, and packaging modular assets—closing critical delivery gaps during rollout.
- Troubleshoot metadata inconsistencies and version-control conflicts, ensuring traceability across asset lifecycles.
- Collaborate on RFP responses and solution pitches (e.g., DAM activation, GenAI content development) for prospective clients such as Boehringer Ingelheim, CSL Behring, and Kiniksa.
- Articulate the ROI of modular content and workflow automation to senior stakeholders, supporting pipeline growth and cross-BU expansion.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- 10+ years of progressive experience in content engineering, digital asset management, or enterprise architecture—preferably within life sciences or other highly regulated industries, including significant experience leading large-scale content initiatives, platform activations, and cross-functional transformation projects.
- Subject-Matter Expertise in DAM platforms (Veeva Vault, Adobe, etc.), metadata strategy, and modular content models.
- Technical Proficiency with scripting languages and integrations to automate content workflows.
- Change Management Credentials demonstrated experience driving adoption of new tools and processes.
- Strong Collaboration & Facilitation Skills—experienced running workshops, writing clear technical documentation, and guiding cross-functional teams.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Mindset—comfortable monitoring system performance, identifying bottlenecks, and iteratively improving processes.
- Excellent Communication—able to bridge technical and non-technical audiences, craft compelling business cases, and influence senior stakeholders.
- Undergraduate degree in information science, computer science, engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
