What does a Creative Director (Art) do?
The Creative Director (CD) oversees creative efforts and team members across multiple brands and indications. They are leaders, mentors, and set standards for craft and communication.
The CD guides, refines, and pushes team members to higher standards and achievements.
They have expertise in either art or copy, with broad understanding of both and lead creative efforts across campaigns and multi-channel strategies. Essential marketing/advertising knowledge ensures work meets full potential, adheres to brand standards, stays on schedule, and exceeds client expectations.
In collaboration with account and planning partners, the CD is responsible for business success, maximizing team billability, profitability, and organic growth. They are client partners confidently presenting and selling work strategically.
AOR and launch experience is preferred. They are creative standard-bearers through industry trends, awards, etc.
They partner with account and planning to develop briefs, clarify creative asks, and offer ideas to maximize creative potential within budget.
The CD acts as the client's lead creative guide, ensuring necessary materials are gathered and the team is set up for success.
Strong partnerships with internal and external teams (clients, vendors, partners) are essential.
This role is a strategic partner and go-to for account, planning, production, and SME teams.
The CD understands medical, regulatory, and legal parameters and ensures creative work is appropriately substantiated.
The CD excels at storytelling, persuasively presenting, and defending work to client partners.
Proficient in adaptability and leading teams in new directions, initiating change.
Responsible for creative excellence at a high strategic level and ensuring team meets targets.
The CD understands accessibility best practices and applies them to work.
