Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring a Data Scientist II to join our Data team.

About the role
You will leverage AI/ML to personalize member/patient engagement to increase the impact clients realize from our product, developing analytics to understand usage of, and demonstrate value of novel communication channels, such as AI chatbots
You will report to the Lead Data Scientist.
Work Location: Oscar is a blended work culture where everyone, regardless of work type or location, feels connected to their teammates, our culture and our mission. If you live within commutable distance to our New York City office (in Hudson Square), our Tempe office (off the 101 at University Dr), or our Los Angeles office (in Marina Del Rey), you will be expected to come into the office at least two days each week. Otherwise, this is a remote / work-from-home role. Responsibilities
- Ensures processes and policies are aligned with departmental strategies and roadmaps
- May mentor junior data scientists and/or analysts
- Interacts and collaborates closely with data and business peers across business units
- Researches, develops, and maintains data pipelines, statistical/ML models, and/or advanced analyses
- Delivers analytical and modeling solutions through testing, validation, and refinement and with minimal manager oversight
- Proactively collaborates within the data science team to supplement domain and technical expertise to drive projects forward
- Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 3+ years of industry or other quantitative technical fields (which may include academia)
- 2+ years of work experience working with SQL, R, and/or Python to query, manipulate and analyze data
- 2+ years experience building data models, using more advanced analytics methods, statistical modeling, and/or data processing
Bonus Points
- Masters degree in a quantitative or technical field
- Knowledge of or previous work experience in health care or health insurance
Travel Up to 5%
Pay Transparency:The base pay for this role is: $131,200 - $172,200 per year.
