About the job
Customer Project Designers are generalists, handling various aspects of design. Creating mockups and implementing design using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Collaborating with Discourse customers to develop custom themes & components for their communities. Maintaining theme additions and changes for ongoing Discourse client sites. Responsibilities include:
- Working with enterprise clients (Unreal Engine, OpenAI, Atlassian, etc.) on customization packages (16 & 40 hours).
- Collaborating with Customer Success Managers to meet client needs and expectations, setting design priorities.
- Maintaining client-specific design requirements.
- Implementing significant design changes to existing client themes and components.
- Managing multiple ongoing customer projects during busy periods and exploring new open-source themes during quieter times.
- Providing support on our Meta forum and directly to customers via email.
Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript.
- Familiarity with EmberJS or a similar JavaScript framework.
- Excellent customer service & communication skills.
- Understanding of brand guidelines and implementing designs that adhere to them.
- Experience building themes for Discourse (preferred).
- Proficiency in design software like Figma or Sketch.
