WHAT DOES A DIRECTOR, CONTENT STRATEGY DO?
The Director, Content Strategy is an experienced leader, passionate about the shifting nature of the content and marketing landscapes and how these changes impact the overall team in terms of how value is provided to clients. They provide oversight and strategic leadership across multiple EVERSANA INTOUCH clients. This position works closely with both the account teams and clients to provide thought leadership and guide content strategy.
They also work with the Group Director and VP of Content Strategy to help with the development and growth of the CS team by way of informing resourcing decisions, tailoring deliverables and refining processes.
They must also be capable of growing CS team business organically, as well as engaging in new business pitches, providing team management and keeping EVERSANA INTOUCH up to speed on industry trends.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leading/guiding a team while providing team process and operational support
- Leading collaboration initiatives across other subject matter expert teams to deliver integrated marketing strategies
- Managing direct reports and aids in providing strategic direction and support
- Mentoring team members and guiding individuals along their ideal career path
- Conducting higher visibility presentations within EVESANA INTOUCH and with clients
- Overseeing multiple clients or one large, complex client at a high level to yield growth
- Providing deep insights and recommendations on behalf of the CS team
- Contributing to and guiding content approach to tactical planning activities
- Educating cross-functional teams on CS processes and best practices
- Working with 3rd party agencies, vendors and content creators
- Modeling inclusive behaviors and proactively managing bias
- Contributing to leadership initiatives, team growth and development
- Providing oversight and guidance of deliverables of team members as well as creating your own advanced strategic deliverables
- Contributing to team resourcing and bandwidth based on budgets and workload
- All other duties as assigned
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Eight or more years of professional experience in marketing and digital (pharmaceutical or health care required), including management leadership roles and extensive client experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education plus professional experience required
- Demonstrated experience with delivering content strategy in Omnichannel marketing or similar integrated strategies, including digital marketing strategies and channels
- Advanced skills in creating compelling client presentations and using marketing or content management tools
- Management skills
- Thought leadership – Seen as a go-to leader for the content strategy team
- Acts as a trusted source able to use their expert knowledge and innate passion to think differently and deeply, motivate and inspire, ideate, and activate
- Pitch/RFP experience and/or ability –understanding of needs, process, presentations
- Experienced collaborator with a high-functioning ability to effectively use communication, interpersonal skills and selling ideas
- Advanced strategic problem-solving and negotiation skills
- Analytical and Strategic skills—examine data and inputs carefully and uncover patterns, trends, gaps, barriers and other opportunities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Significant marketing agency experience
- Ability to teach and educate staff and clients on CS and team deliverables
- Prior direct management experience
- Positive personality with the willingness to help keep team morale up
- Stable attitude; able to keep calm composure in times of chaos
