We are seeking a Director of Research passionate about creating empowering experiences for employees. Lead a research organization building innovative employee experiences, advanced tech products, and revolutionizing workflows.
This role is ideal for research executives fascinated by the evolving needs of businesses digitizing their operations, supporting distributed global teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and manage high-performing research team, fostering a user-centric culture.
- Shape culture, operations, talent, and strategy for the research org.
- Partner with Product, UX, and Engineering leaders to influence strategy & roadmap.
- Guide researchers in generative & evaluative, formative & summative research methods (ethnography, interviews, surveys, concept testing, usability studies).
- Collaborate with research leadership & product stakeholders to set strategic priorities.
- Partner with Research Operations on resource planning, budgeting, hiring, vendor management, process standardization, and tools.
- Communicate research insights effectively across the company.
- Develop architectural definitions (user profiles, workflows, information architecture).
Qualifications:
- Experience leveraging or integrating AI into workflows, decision-making, and problem-solving.
- Understanding of enterprise software, technology products, and systems design.
- 5+ years managing a team of managers/researchers (preferred).
- Advanced degree (or equivalent) in HCI, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology (preferred).
- Expertise in UI design, usability evaluation, perception, cognition, task analysis, and experimental design (preferred).
- Actionable research insights that drive business strategy (preferred).
- Exceptional people skills, inspirational leadership, and a strong understanding of user empathy.
- Strong executive presence, influencing stakeholders, and ability to communicate the value of research.
- Experience leading with distributed, global teams and fostering collaboration.
- Proven ability to create innovative research programs and strategies.
